It is important to remember your lesson appointment is reserved specifically for you! All tuitions are paid monthly in advance. The tuition includes the time dedicated to giving lessons .It also includes time spent in daily preparation for lessons. Tuition payments are expected in advance on the first lesson day of each month. If the first lesson is missed for any reason, payment for that month should be mailed to the studio. Tuition payment received after the 10th day of the month is subject to a 20-dollar late payment fee. The return check fee is 40 dollars. The tuition remains the same no matter how many lessons your child receives. It is not refunded. Payments may be made in cash, check or credit card. Four performance opportunities per year. Recitals are scheduled in October, November, December, and two weeks before NYSSMA. (There is a 20-dollar performer fee for each recital.) Opportunities for community service performances. Video recording session which finished product will be posted on Standing Ovation Web Site Missed lessons There will be no refunds or deductions for missed lessons. Please give at least 72 hours if you wish to swap a lesson time with another student. Otherwise you must pay for the lesson without taking it because your time is reserved specifically for you. NOTE: Lesson swap is subject to availability there is no guarantee Makeup lessons Makeup lessons will not be given for canceled or missed lessons except for those canceled by the teacher. NO EXCEPTIONS! To facilitate a make up lesson for an expected absence from an upcoming lesson please call in at least 10 days in advance to see if we can swap lesson times with someone else during the week of the missed lesson only.

 

In the case of serious illness that will cause the student to miss lessons for an extended period of time special arrangements can be made. The lessons usually held on our recital dates will be rescheduled on the Sunday before the recital. There will be times when you have a school event that will conflict with your lesson time. In those cases you must be diligent to coordinate ahead of time so you can swap a lesson time with another student. Remember your lesson time is reserved specifically for you. If a student cancels a lesson for any reason full lesson tuition is still due and will not be credited to the following month. The student may or may not receive a makeup lesson. If the instructor cancels the lesson and is not able to schedule a makeup lesson the student will receive credit for the missed lesson. To be eligible for a make up lesson students must give 24 hours notice of cancellation. ** And must schedule the makeup lesson within 30 days of the cancelled lesson. If a makeup lesson is not immediately available the student will be placed on the makeup list and will be offered a makeup lesson upon availability and on a first come first serve basis. Students may have only one makeup lesson on the makeup list at any given time.

 

** At the instructors discretion the policy of 24 hours notice of cancellation may be waived in case of sudden illness or accident if all other tuition and makeup lesson guidelines have been followed and the student has no other makeup lessons on the list and an opening is available. STUDENTS CAN ONLY MAKE UP FOUR LESSONS A SCHOOL YEAR DUE TO ILLNESS. Makeup lessons will NOT be scheduled for cancelled makeup lessons. The four make up lessons are for illness only. Other wise the lessons missed due to other schedule conflicts a swap must be made in advance or the lesson is forfeited Make ups are not available for last minute changes such as: heavy homework, car trouble, orthodontic appointments, rescheduled soccer games or any rescheduled sport events, auditions, callbacks, other illnesses in the family, etc……………………We adhere to this policy firmly.(As a mother of a child who takes private lessons, I adhere to much stricter guidelines then these.) Tardiness- each student has a time reserved in our schedule. We will honor this appointment conscientiously in order that the other students are given the same considerations. We cannot allow a lesson to extend into another time period. Therefore, if

 

the student arrives late the lesson will end the usual time with out adjustment of fee. If it is necessary to cancel a lesson without making it up, (per guidelines above) please call me no later then 10 a.m. the lesson day. There will be no refund for missed or forgotten lessons. There is no exception to this policy. Studio Closure When the studio is closed no makeup lessons are given. And no tuition payment is necessary. When the studio is open, tuition is due for lessons. Lessons cancelled for teach illness emergencies or vacations will be made up or tuition fee will be credited to your account. Incase of severe weather conditions we will try to arrange another time or tuition fee will be credited to your account. Summer Study I offer summer study because I feel that continuous study is most beneficial to the student. The summer months offer more time to practice without the worry of homework and other school activities.

 

I encourage you to study and attend lessons during the summer. The tuition will be due in an advance excluding the weeks your family has planned vacations. Note: scheduled family vacations and special family events will be addressed as they arise and we will make adjustments as needed during school vacation weeks if the studio is open for lessons.
